For Immediate Release:

The Southern Indiana Storm based out of Paoli, In. is proud to announce they will be returning to the United States Woman’s Football League (USWFL) for their second year of play.
The Storm played their first season in the USWFL 2016 and look to make a run far into the playoffs in the 2017 season. Finishing up the 2016 season at 0-7 left the team and fans desiring more for season number two. The offseason has been spent fixing a few minor issues that kept us the Storm from operating at their full potential.
“We are eagerly looking forward to getting back on the field for the 2017 season,” said Head Coach and Owner Cecil Rowlett. “We felt that injuries and the lack of experience restricted us from exploding last year, but now we have experience returning to the field,” Rowlett added. “If we can keep these girls that are returning healthy and add some new blood to the mix we will rock in 2017!”
The Storm interviewed with several other leagues in the offseason but ultimately they felt that returning home to the USWFL was the right choice for the organization. When asked about those interviews here is what Head Coach & Owner Cecil Rowlett had to say, “there was a lot of movement in Woman’s Football all together as a whole the last few months. We explored our options after the USWFL lost three teams, but Mary Butler, league owner of the USWFL, has done a tremendous job replacing those teams, plus adding other teams.” He added, “after looking back at the USWFL, the teams that were added, and what they had to offer this season, there was no question that we needed to go back home to the USWFL.”
The Storm looks forward to doing their part to help the USWFL grow and become a premier league. They are laying the foundations to become a premier team in the USWFL over the next few years. When asked to sum up the 2017 season and their part in the USWFL Rowlett replied, “The Storm is Rising and we are coming with a fierceness that these other teams better be ready for.”
